Is there a way to change the By Your Command theme that would allow me to use my own colors for the tabs instead of just the default red?

Yes, that would certainly be possible. You'd need to locate the place in the theme where the red gradient is drawn and remove the colour entries in that slice.

So this bit:

 Code:
<dict>
	<key>Bounds</key>
	<dict>
		<key>Bottom</key>
		<real>1</real>
		<key>Left</key>
		<real>1</real>
		<key>Right</key>
		<real>1</real>
		<key>Top</key>
		<real>1</real>
	</dict>
	<key>FillTabs</key>
	<true/>
	<key>HighlightColour</key>
	<dict>
		<key>Blue</key>
		<real>0.0</real>
		<key>Green</key>
		<real>0.0</real>
		<key>Red</key>
		<real>0.5</real>
	</dict>
	<key>Invert</key>
	<true/>
	<key>Kind</key>
	<string>Fill</string>
	<key>MainColour</key>
	<dict>
		<key>Blue</key>
		<real>0.0</real>
		<key>Green</key>
		<real>0.0</real>
		<key>Red</key>
		<real>1</real>
	</dict>
	<key>Name</key>
	<string>Gradient</string>
	<key>ShadowColour</key>
	<dict>
		<key>Blue</key>
		<real>0.0</real>
		<key>Green</key>
		<real>0.0</real>
		<key>Red</key>
		<real>0.5</real>
	</dict>
</dict>

would become just:

 Code:
<dict>
	<key>Bounds</key>
	<dict>
		<key>Bottom</key>
		<real>1</real>
		<key>Left</key>
		<real>1</real>
		<key>Right</key>
		<real>1</real>
		<key>Top</key>
		<real>1</real>
	</dict>
	<key>FillTabs</key>
	<true/>
	<key>Invert</key>
	<true/>
	<key>Kind</key>
	<string>Fill</string>
	<key>Name</key>
	<string>Gradient</string>
</dict>

Then, you'd need to add a global key:

 Code:
<key>SupportsColours</key>
<true/>

That way, the normal layer colours will be used instead in the places that no colour is specified.

Hi, another question about this theme. There is the dark background and the lighter border that goes around the background image and the tab. What item would I look for in the plist to make that border a darker shade of grey than what it is now, or can't this be done? Thanks for your help.

Yeah, that's possible. Search for occurrences of "0.14999999999999999" and change the HighlightColour, MainColour and ShadowColour entries in the sections in which it appears.

In lieu of a full-fledged Christmas theme, I'd like to change the layer tab color for the unselected tabs from black to a dark green in the By Your Command theme. Thus the selected tab would be red and the others would be dark green. Which section do I modify?

It's the Theme / Middle Tab / North / Background / Active / Normal & Selected sections.

Thanks. I'll see if I can do this.
